Established in 2016 on The Harley School campus, Empire Tennis Academy is led by owner-director Jason Speirs, a Harley alumnus and product of the legendary Dave Strebel Tennis Academy who later served as Director of Tennis at NYC's Roosevelt Island Racquet Club before returning to Rochester to continue Strebel's legacy as a Rochester Tennis Hall of Famer. The academy runs 3 indoor and 5 outdoor hard courts, serves juniors from beginner to advanced (ages 5-17) plus adults, uses a UTR-based match-play structure, and runs a nonprofit outreach arm called "Tennis Saves."
